Merry Christmas!

I’m taking a 2-day break from this site to celebrate Christmas with my family (unless I get bored or find something that I simply must pass along…or I can score the Acme circular today)
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and I’ll be back on Friday!

Guest Posters Wanted!

It’s been a really bad day.  I had a craft show for my jewelry business that didn’t go as hoped (although I did better than most other vendors) and I came home to the news that my grandfather had died. He died peacefully in his sleep, which is not a bad way to go if [...]

Be Right Back!

I seem to have caught a stomach bug and have spent most of last night and today curled up in a little ball on my sofa or the bathroom floor
I’m working on the Giant post and things should be back to normal by tomorrow! (these things usually only last 24 hours, right?  Please?)

Stockpiling Saves More Than Money

Stockpiling Saves More Than Money

As you may remember, I am a big fan of stockpiling when I get great deals.  I find that this is a better method for our family because then I can just create meals from the stockpile, rounding out with fresh produce and dairy (rather than going through the circulars, figuring out what is on [...]

Roasted Red Peppers

Roasted Red Peppers

This recipe is oh-so easy, much better than the stuff you buy in the jar, as well as quite a bit cheaper!
You will need:
Red Peppers
Green Olive Oil (I just use Bertolli’s Extra-Virgin)
Garlic Cloves:  1/2-1 clove per pepper
Directions:

Wash the peppers and pat dry.
Place the peppers on the grill over medium flame.  Turn frequently using your hands [...]
