As a reminder, the value of the coupons that you find in your newspaper may vary from the value in the provided link! In addition, all of the stores in my area double coupons up to $.99 (so a $.75 coupon has a value of $1.50). If the stores in your area don’t double or your paper is more expensive, you may not find the coupons as valuable as I do!
Check out Sunday Coupon Preview for the complete listing of coupons. There should be 2 inserts this week: a SmartSource and a RedPlum.
Local Readers: please remember that the Philadelphia Inquirer has stopped carrying the RedPlum insert. Check the RedPlum websiteto see if there are other newspapers in your area that contain the RedPlum insert!
Don’t understand the terms or abbreviations that I use? Be sure to read my Coupon Lingo post!
Coupons of Note
Campbell’s Chunky Soup $0.75/4: these go on sale for about $1 (including at Acme this week), making them only $0.50 ea. after doubling!
Chex Mix or Chex 100 Calorie Snack $0.50/2: these also go on sale for about $1 (including at Acme this week), making them only $0.50 ea. after doubling
Franks Redhot sauce $0.50/1 and $0.75/1: We should see some good sales next week and the week after (because of Superbowl)
French’s Classic Yellow Mustard $0.30/1: with a sale, you should be able to pick up mustard for about $0.25 after doubling!
Hormel Pepperoni Pack $0.75/1: these go on sale for about $3 or less all the time, making them about $1.50 ea. after doubling
(is it just me, or do the coupons this week seem mostly geared towards SuperBowl parties?)
Kraft or Cracker Barrel Natural Cheese $1/2: hold on to this for a 3 for $5 sale
Nabisco Crackers $1/1: they go on sale for $2 all the time. If there is no size restriction, CVS & Walgreens usually carry a single-sleeve package for $1, making them FREE
Pert Plus For Men $1.50/1: Look for bottles with a “Try Me Free” sticker on them and use this coupon and submit for this rebate for a potential moneymaker!
Stacy’s Pita or Bagel Chips $1/1: there are plenty of sales these days on this, including CVS & Walgreens making them part of an ECB/RR deal!
Yoplat Fiber One Multipack $0.50/1: this was a $1/1 coupon for what seems like forever and now they have dropped it down! They go on sale for $2 all the time. Luckily, those who have stores that double coupons should still be able to pick it up for $1 ea.!
Brawny Paper Towels $1/1 (6 big roll or larger): not the greatest coupon, but any coupon for paper towels is a good thing!
Dixie coupons 2 $0.55/1 coupons: these go on sale for $2 or less, making them super-cheap after doubling
L’Oreal 24 hr Lash Boosting System $5/1 : this is a new product that will probably be featured in the drug store deals.
Newman’s Own Pasta Sauce, Salsa, Lemonade, Marinade or Popcorn $0.50/1 : oh – how I love the lemonade!
Quaker Bars coupons 2 $1/2 coupons: There have been some great deals lately on Quaker products…hopefully these will be included!
So how many copies of the paper would I buy?
If I were building a stockpile: 3-4
Now that I am in stockpile-maintenance mode: 2-3
Despite there being some nice coupons, for me, this is truly one of those weeks where I can see the point that some people make when they say that there are only coupons for “junk food”. So many of the coupons seem to be geared towards a Superbowl party! It’s just not a thrilling week for me (although if I WAS having a SuperBowl party, I would probably buy a few extras!)

Just curious. . . what are you doing for Red Plum coupons since the Inquirer stopped carrying that insert?
Hi Julie!
I live right between Pottstown and Norristown, both of which have papers that are still carrying the RedPlum and are available at the Wawa down the street from me.
Honestly? I haven’t even looked at the inserts that I got last week (I am so behind on my clipping that it is almost comical!), because I did get 2 Inquirers as well as 2 Pottstown Mercurys. I don’t know if the coupons are that different!
Here in the Lehigh Valley, The Morning Call still gets Red Plum, but because it’s a smaller market it doesn’t get all scheduled coupons. Also, the The Morning Call is more likely to have $1/2 where the Inquirer has .50/1.
I am still trying to decide if I can live without the Red Plum. Last week I compared the Sun Times, Wilm. News Journal and the Inquirer. The SS in the Inquirer was the best. :( Sun times was missing 8 coupons but had 2 more different ones and the WNJ was missing 23!
Not sure if it’s just not my lucky day but neither of the 2 Pottstown Mercury’s I got had red plum inserts in them today :(
