Does that title sound a little snarky? Well – that’s because I am feeling a full-blown rant coming on! Instead, I’ll just post the info and open a Bud Light Lime until the feeling passes…..
Remember how we weren’t supposed to have another Super Doubles until 2010 and then word got out that we WOULD have another and we were excited for those who were going to get them even though Pennsylvania wasn’t going to get them and then we got excited again because it looked like PA would participate (see? Kmart is causing me to throw out all the rules of grammar and write run-on sentences!)
I was out this morning at an Acme event with Shannon (among others) and heard this info while we were there and came home to 3 emails and a comment that all say the same thing:
Kmart is participating in Double Your P & G BrandSaver Coupons. The event is running from 9/27/09 through 10/3/2009. All Procter & Gamble coupons that include the name Procter & Gamble in the coupon disclosure are included. If this verbiage does not appear in the disclosure, the coupon can be accepted at face value only. The limit is 10 doubled coupons, per day, per customer.
Lovely….
So gather up your high-value Proctor & Gamble coupons (both of them) and get ready for….what?
and now since I don’t want to get too ranty and I have a policy of “No Booze Before 5:01pm Unless It Is Sunday And The Steelers Are Playing”, I’m going to just STARE at a can of Bud Light Lime for the next 2.5 hours…..

With the way things are going with K-mart, the entire chain will close before the end of 2010. Problem solved.
LOL
I hope you cracked that can by now. I feel you Mindy!
The only good thing I see for myself is Pampers $2.00 coupon, because it is a P & G coupon!
Is there a limit on the value of the coupon that they will double? I have a $3.00 Pampers coupon and wasn’t sure if it would be doubled to $6.00?
They only double up to $2.00, so that it’s worth $4.00. A $3.00 coupon is only face value. Hope that helps :)
Amen, Heather! From a business perspective, it’s not good for my company if they go out of business (we manage several locations). BUT, as a consumer, I can’t wait for them to just let it die. No matter what they do, they can’t save this chain. Their stores are dirty and awful. Their CS is terrible. And, even compared to Walmart their quality of certain items seems low. I am not a fan. I did Superdoubles once, but it just wasn’t worth the hassle!
I thought I was the only one that detested K-Mart…shame on them! Their customer service is horrible. Last time I went, they “forgot” to scan about 4 of my coupons. When I complained, the manager wouldn’t do anything. He said “next time you come in, let me know.” How does that help me?
All stores can be guilty of that. I have had that happen at Walmart, Publix and Target multiple times. And waiting 20 min in the Guest Services line at Walmart for $4 in qs is not pleasant.
I just wanted to let you know after I read various blogs mentioning the P&G only thing I called my mom yesterday and asked her if they had gotten anything about doubles from corporate yesterday. In the email she got they were told that even though they hadn’t planned on doing super doubles again for the rest of the year P&G had already put an advertisement about it in their flier that will be coming out on Sunday. Most of the actual Kmart ads having already been printed won’t have the super doubles mentioned on the front page as it has in the past. Since the company that puts out the P&G brand saver coupons made this mistake they plan on honoring it. They will be doubling ALL coupons up to $2 because they can not specify in the system which coupons to double and which ones not to double. Considering the Sears fiasco with the revoked coupon and the facebook thing with the company changing to a b1g1 q instead of free I would say that Kmart is showing pretty good face here. They didn’t tell P&G to put that ad out but they are honoring it anyways. They could have copped out and said they wouldn’t honor it because it wasn’t their ad that announced it.
On a side not it saddens me in this economy to hear nasty comments like some have made above about hoping that Kmart dies. Its not the employees faults that the idiot CEO thought it would be smart to buy Sears and merge with them. Thats my moms job that you are talking about and she has worked for Kmart for over 20yrs and her and the employees in her store try their best, but it is hard when the budget doesn’t allow them to have enough people on the floor. My mom works 50-60 hrs a wk and gets paid for 45. She tried going to Walmart once over 10yrs ago and they told her that they could hire 2 regular full time people instead and pay them both together less then she was making. I would hope everyone would hope for as many companies as possible to make it as long as they can so more people won’t end up on the street. My family was living good, (hubby worked for FedEx Freight) it looked like a good company, #1 in the industry, economy tanked, cut hrs, laid people off, now we have to move to Salt lake city because that was the only place his other job had a full time position at. He works for Delta and there are some competing airlines that I think are junk but I don’t hope that they tank because that is peoples jobs on the line. And I despise Walmart, I worked there, I hate how they treat employees, I hate what they do to communities, and what they do to family businesses but I don’t hope that they crash and burn right now because that is millions of employees that would be in a horrible situation.
I just went to Kmart and used 5 of the P & G coupons. They didn’t double, so I asked a manager who told me “we don’t have an ad at this Kmart”. What does that mean? Ridiculous!
