July is National Ice Cream Month (sidenote: why can’t every month be that? Or at least National Butter Pecan Ice Cream with Peanut Butter Topping Month?) and in honor of that, Turkey Hill will be giving away free ice cream to random commenters on the Ice Cream Journal. I never even know that Turkey Hill had a blog!
Anyway, stop by the Ice Cream Journal, poke around, leave a comment and see if you win!
And if you live near a Turkey Hill Minit Mart, please check out this post about their new program to support the PA National Guardsmen serving in Iraq and Afghanistan: Operation Hometown Hero.
While we are on the subject of Turkey Hill, don’t forget to call 1-800-MY-DAIRY and request a calendar from them. They put out a calendar each year that is just chock-full of coupons for both ice cream and their teas!
Chances are that they don’t have any left for 2009, but when I called at this time last year, not only did they sign me up to get the 2009 calendar, they sent me out a huge packet of coupons immediately!

I didn’t know about the calendar, thanks!
The one thing I miss about moving to NJ, having a Turkey Hill around the corner. :( Maybe I should move back so I’m no longer an Imported from Lancaster County kind of gal. I swear, half the time I think everyone in NJ is nuts and I’m the only sane person in the entire state.
I would love to know where you find peanut butter topping. I absolutely die for the Friendly’s variety, but thank goodness (for my waistline at least) they are too far away for me to enjoy to often. It would be cool to get some for some homemade sundaes though.
I don’t buy the topping that often, but there is a local independently-owned ice cream shop near me that carries it. Like you, I have to be careful of that topping. I am perfectly happy to go a month without eating ice cream….but if I pick up a pint of that topping, I’ll eat it every night over Butter Pecan until the topping is gone! ;-)
I was pleasantly surprised to get a live person on the phone after only 2 rings! How often does that happen anymore?
