As always, thanks to Mercedes (AKA:  The Queen Of Wags) for her help in putting together these deals!  To see the full list of deals, check out her post!

The Easy Saver Rebate program has officially been discontinued at Walgreens (rebates AND coupons).  However, there should be more Register Rewards products and it is being said that there will be Free-After-Rebate items, but that the rebate form will print at checkout when you buy eligible items.  They are still building the Wags near me (at this rate it should be open by the year 2015), so I still have to rely on what others are saying is happening at the stores!

I have a question. I am very new to shopping at Walgreens, and I was wondering if I buy 2 or 3 different RR items, will I get one RR coupon for each item?

for each item that you buy that has a different RR you will get a separate RR for each different item. For example; if you buy the Nivea Body Wash this week you will get that RR. If you buy the Bayer quick release you will get RR from that. Understand? But if you use a mfg coupon on that item it will block the RR. That mfg coupon will over ride your RR to where you dont get one. Also when an Item is BOGO you are not allowed to use a BOGO MFG coupon, it is considered fraud. Now you can use a dollar amount MFG coupon on a BOGO but just one.

I don’t know enough about how the Wags Registers work (because the are taking FOREVER to build the Wags near me), but I wanted to clear up a few things….

I do not believe that using a manufacturers coupon will block a register reward. It doesn’t block it at any other store and all of my bloggy friends who post Walgreens deals are always talking about using a coupons and still getting the RRs. I can’t imagine that 99% of the Frugal Blogsosphere would still be posting about using coupons with RR deals if the RRs weren’t printing!

Using a BOGO coupon on a BOGO deal is not considered fraud….not in the least. That being said, your ability to use a BOGO coupon on a BOGO deal will depend on the cashier, as many are misinformed and consider it fraud (because they can’t understand how you can walk out with 2 items and paying nothing). Bottom line, a BOGO coupon ensures that the store will be reimbursed for the item that the store promotion is requiring you to buy for them to get the item free.

Well said Mindi. I have been shopping Walgreens for awhile now and almost always use a coupon on RR deals. The RR will still print. It is not fraud to use a manuf. BOGO coupon on a store BOGO deal because the store will still get $ from the manufacturer. Does Becky work for Wags?!? I live in DE near 5 Walgreens (Happy Harry’s) and I have found the nice cashiers that will work with me and not be grumpy and lame when I hand over coupons. Why can’t they all be excited when they see someone saving money? It’s not like our coupons directly affect their paychecks!

Right, as said before, you can get an RR if you pay with a manf. coupon. There have been few cases in the past were it doesn’t work {Dry Idea deo. about two months ago – the barcode on the coupon and register reward were the same, so the register thought you were paying with a Dry Idea RR and didn’t produce another}.

And, if you buy different RR items, say Rembrandt, Nivea and Bayer Crystals all in one transactions, you will get all 3 RRs.

Oh, and on the Rimmel Mascara – while it’s not fraud, it’s also not free. The coupon has a limit of 6.47, and the price for the mascara is 7.49. You’d end up paying 1.02 OOP. You could try to use a $1 any Rimmel coupon along with the BOGO and pay $0.02 OOP, but that’s a YYMV {I know some people pulled it off when the All You coupon first came out, but I haven’t tried it yet, so I can’t confirm it}.

I have found that you can use a manufactures coupon on a RR deal and still get your register rewards but you can not use a RR rewards certificate to pay for the same item. example: If you would buy the rembrant and get the RR one day you cant go back the next and buy the rembrant again and use the RR that you received for the rembrant yesterday. You will not get a second RR. However you can use RR you got from a different item like say the visine. In reality you are only allowed 1 RR (usually) per person. I think one day soon they will come up with a better system to keep track of what people are buying like CVS’s ECB card. Hope this helps

DO ANY OF YOU WORK FOR WALGREENS?

8 Becky May 1, 2009 at 4:05 pm

IF NOT, YOU HAVE ALOT TO LEARN ABOUT HOW WALGREENS SYSTEM WORKS. ROBIN SEEMS TO UNDERSTAND THE RR AND KNOW HOW IT WORKS. BUT THE REST OF YOU NEED TO TALK WITH THE WALGREENS STORE MANAGER AND CLEAR UP YOUR BOGO INFORMATION OR EVEN CONTACT WALGREEN’S ITSELF. THE NUMBER IS 1800-WALGREENS.
