This post is part of The Grocery Gathering hosted by BeCentsAble.  To find the best deals nationwide, please visit her site!

Aside from the 3-day sale, there is not a whole lot of exciting deals…but let’s face it:  It’s a holiday weekend and stores don’t really need to do much to get you to buy lots of food this week!

Acme is open on Sunday, so if you need any last-minute items, you can go there! (or if you don’t celebrate Easter, I have to imagine it would be a pretty good day to shop as they probably won’t be that busy)

I think the Vitamin water is $1 this week so would be free with the coupon from last Sunday.

Also Lay’s multi snackpacks are $2. There was a $.55/1 coupon awhile ago(haven’t gone to the store yet to know for sure if the coupon is for the kind on sale). That would make them $.90 after doubling…that seems like a good price? I don’t usually buy these, but am trying to stock up on some snackies for all the upcoming family/friend get togethers!

Alright, I didn’t see the snackpacks. The only thing I saw was the 100 calorie packs which isn’t the same thing as the coupon. Oh well, I guess I looked at the ad wrong!

I went to Acme and bought two Aqua Juice using the BOGO coupon. I was told that I couldn’t use the 75 cent off coupon in addition, I would have had to buy more juice to use the coupon. Last week it beeped but the cashier put it through. This week she had the supervisor come over to the register so she could process a coupon for our free lasagna and the supervisor said that I couldn’t use both coupons.

Has anybody else this happen to them? I don’t often get/use BOGO coupons. I was under the impression the coupon was for the free one and I could use the 75 cent off coupon on the regular full priced item.

Thanks!

Last week I went to Acme and got the BOGO Breyers Ice Cream and used 2 of the .75 coupons. Went through self check out and had no problems.

The BOGO wasn’t a coupon though so maybe that was the difference.

I am pretty sure, that you can’t use BOGO coupon and .75 off coupon at the same time, if you are getting two products. I wish! LOL Now, in Kelly’s case BOGO is an advertised deal and she could use either two .75 off or (if she had it) one BOGO coupon.

The only place I have success using a BOGO coupon plus a cents off coupon is CVS.

Be on the look out for a display of sample size Warm Mini Delights! They are .99, but the display says “get one free with Acme card”. I found them in front of the creamers at my store last night, but others are finding them throughout the store, so check around.

Also, there is a cat deal going on that if you spend over 50.00 (I think), you get two 10% off cats for future orders. This is being reported to work off your total before coupons! (I spent way over that b/c we are hosting Easter dinner tomorrow.) One is good from 4/13-4/19 and one is good 3/20-4/26.

I got 4 save $5 off when you spend $40 or more. That’s a pretty great coupon. Usually they are less than 10% off. I used one last week, and will use one this week. Then I have two more.

What will be great is I will spend over $50 (before coupons) this week, so I’ll have 10% AND the $5 off for the future trips in April. That’s really great because I had some unexpected bills so it’s a little tight this month.

I don’t have a bogo coupon for the aquajuice you guys always talk about. I’d really like to try it, but not at 4 bucks.

Ok, a couple of things that I saw that were not advertised:

*Wild Harvest individual iced tea/juice is on sale for $1. Use Mindi’s $1 off to get it free.
*Starkist Tuna pouches is 10 for $10. Check your Avenue, because mine was saved $1.50 when you buy 2 and I could do it 4 times. So you’d get 8 of them for $2. For some reason I had save $1.50 off 3 coupons (but I don’t know where I got them from) so I actually bought 9 of them, and the store paid me $1.50 to bring them home! Even without the coupons though, 25 cents a pouch is not bad at all.
*Gorton’s frozen fish is 50% off, and there were coupons in the paper a few weeks ago save $1/2. I also stacked them with a random Acme coupon I got in the mail, and I got 4 packs for $9. Also, if you send 3 UPCs in, you get a free calendar with $15 worth of coupons in it. This is a good week to buy if you are trying to get that. The Boy eats a lot of Gortons, so I’m sure they will be helpful for us.
*Hanover beans (garbanzo, black, and kidney) are on sale 5/$4 and there was coupon last week save $1/3. That works them out to 46 cents a can. I rarely buy canned beans (I used dried since they are cheaper) but I have found canned garbanzos are the best for making homemade hummus, so that’s a stock up price.
*1% milk is $3 per gallon. I don’t know why it’s only 1%, but we will drink skim or 1%, so I bought that this week. I saved my free milk coupon from the Kellogg’s deal this week so that I could get free milk at the higher price another week.

All told, today I spend $42.10 (which is a bit high for me, but it actually was a great week overall) but saved a total of $69.29. Not bad for what I consider a “bad” week at Acme.

I DO feel badly about one thing. Lays baked snacks are on sale for 2.79 and Rold Gold are on sale for 2.69. I had $.55/1 coupons and bought 2 tortillas chips, 1 plain chips and 1 bag of pretzels. When I came home to post that the coupons were out there, I realized they actually expired yesterday. I didn’t mean to cheat. Oops.

I think I also saw the Ocean Spray oatmeal in the 10/10.00 section. Don’t think there are any coupons, but good price.
