This post is part of The Grocery Gathering hosted by BeCentsAble.  To find the best deals at your local store, please visit her site.

The Acme Easter Rewards have started:  Spend $300 between 3/6 & 4/2 and get a coupon good for a free Cook’s Smoked ham, Family Size Lasagna or Turkey Breast).

As my regular readers know, I absolutely adore Acme…but this week isn’t that great, especially when it comes to coupon matchups.  However, there is a nice Catalina deal going on with Kraft & Starkist products (including a “Double Dip” with the 2% slices) that can get you some great deals and well on your way to earning your free ham/lasagna/turkey (if you have the coupons).

OK, I am still not great at figuring out the best way to do catalinas. I was thinking about going tonight to try (only b/c it works into the weekend better!)

2 Bagelfuls $4 (2 x $1/1)
3 Starkist $6 ($1/1 and BOGO)
1 Jell-O $2.50 ($.60/1 doubled)
1 Cakester $2.50 ($1.50/1 CRT? or maybe it is a catalina?)
2 100 Calorie $5.00 (2 x $1/1)
1 Planters $2.50 ($1/1)
1 Arnold $2.50 ($1/1)

Total after coupons $13.30 and get a $10 catalina?

Does this sound right? I have a few more starkist coupons and could get my total down to $13.10 – but I’d rather pay an extra $0.20 and have more snackies than tuna. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Well, I just got back and my scenario worked out almost as planned : ) I realized the 100 Calorie coupons I had were for Hershey’s NOT Nabisco, but there was a tearpad in the aisle with $2 off WYB Nabisco 100 calorie and crystal light mix – so it worked out the same.

I also added $1 Marshmallows so I could use my $5 mail in rebate coupon from Quaker (good off any grocery purchase – coded as a manufacturers coupon). I would’ve rather had the check, but oh well.

After all was said and done I spent $9.09 OOP and earned my $10 catalina.

Acme is a sister store to Shaw’s (who is also having the kraft/starkist deal this week) The “$25″ is based on SHELF price, NOT sale price, at least at shaw’s and Jewel (also a sister store) that’s how it is.

Note on some hot clearance items: Big bags of dark chocolate chex mix are on clearance for 2.09, use the .50 coupons/doubled for 1.09 yumminess! Also, Pringles original flavor minis are on clearance for 1.14. Use the 1.00/1 from the P&G booklet.

Just wanted to let everyone know that they Kraft 2% shreds are included in the 25/10 deal. My .75 blinkies doubled too!

I did this deal twice, but could have done better. I couldn’t risk it not working on shelf prices, so I just used sale prices this go around. I also totally screwed up b/c I should have used the Kraft cheese deal to double dip, but I was running late and had to go.

Here’s what I did:

6 bagelfuls 12.00
4 jello pudding 10.00
2 starkist 4.00
26.00
- 6.00 6 x 1.00 bagelful ips
- 4.80 .60 x 4 jello ips doubled
- 2.00 starkist vocalpoint coupons
= 13.20 oop, earn 10.00 cat

within the same transaction
4 kraft 2% shredded cheese 8.00
- 6.00 4 x .75 blinkies doubled
= 2.00 for 4 bags of cheese–woot!, earn 3.00 cat

Went back today for milk and couldn’t resist… I think I have a problem–lol!

6 boxes planters big nut bars 15.00
2 boxes south beach bars 5.00
2 boxes nabisco 100 cal honeymaid bars 5.00
= 25.00
- 6.00 6 x 1.00 planters big nut bars tearpad
- 2.00 2 x 1.00 south beach mfr
- 2.00 2 x 1.00 nabisco mfr
15.00 oop, earn 10.00 cat

I actually paid with cats and gift cards for all of this and more. Only spent 1.26 oop and that was with some extras.

PS – A couple commented on my binder and I told them about your blog. So, hello to my fellow KoP shoppers!
