Acme Markets 7/25 to 7/31/08

by Mindi Cherry on July 25, 2008

This post is part of The Grocery Gathering hosted by BeCentsAble.  To find the best deals at your local store, please visit her site!

It’s a decent week at Acme, although I guess the best proof that the economy is in trouble is that Fast Fixins are on sale, but not at 10 for $10 as usual!  They went up a whole $.50!

Anyway….

Don’t forget to check your Avenu savings daily!  They WILL change as often as every day!

  • California Seedless Red Grapes:  $.99/lb

  • Turkey Hill Ice Cream:  2 for $6 (pair with $1/1 from the 7/13 RP)
  • Ball Park Beef or Meat Franks; Hillshire Smoked Sausage:  BOGO

no real savings by themselves, but many of the Acme products show up on my Avenue all the time, so keep checking!

Page 4-5

only good thing that I can see is the plain Pound cakes at 10 for $10 (especially since Strawberries are BOGO….together they make a nice version of Strawberry Shortcake!)

Natural Organic/More Ways to Save insert page

  • Stonyfield Farm Organic Yogurt:  10 for $10 (pair with the coupons from here)
  • Kashi TLC Crackers:  2 for $5 (pair with coupons from here- it should be a $2/any Kashi product)
  • Save $5 OYNO wyb any $15 (before coupons, after sale/Avenue) of participating Colgate Palmolive products:  $1 and $1.50 Colgate coupons can be found in the paper at least once a month, in All You magazine as well as hereFor this sale, I would probably stick with Colgate products and stock up on toothpaste, since the prices on the other items aren’t that great

Page 6

  • Scotch Brite Pads (select varieties)  10 for $10
  • Huggies Wipes:  2 for $5 (pair with the $.50/1 from the 6/22 SS)

Page 7

  • Samy Salon Hair Care:  2 for $9 (pair with $2/1 from the July Reinventing Beauty book available at CVS)
  •  don’t bother getting personal care items….you can get them MUCH cheaper at RiteAid and CVS …..look for posts this week telling you how to do just that!

Page 8

  • Coca Cola 2-liters:  10 for $10 (pair with $1/3 from the Olympic Brochure from Genuardi’s)
  • Arm & Hammer 2x Laundry detergent:  BOGO (pair with $1/1 coupons from here)
  • Powerade Zero or Powerade Sports drinks:  $.79 each (pair with $1/1 from the 7/13 SS to get them free or with a potential overage.  Pair with the B2G1F hangtags that are on Powerades at CVS to get even more savings!)

I will be out of town next Thursday through Sunday and will not have access to next week’s ad until they post it on the website.  I will try to go through the posted ad and post deals as I see them, but next week may not be as thorough as normal….

They are also having a “Gold Medal Rewards” promotion, that I had never heard of before. You spend $25 on certain products and get $8 OYNO. The brands are: Tyson, Powerade, Dasani, Keebler, Kellogg’s, Kleenex, Cottonelle, Viva and Hershey’s. So if you get enough of the Powerade deal you could get an $8 catalina. I found this out by accident when I went last night. Plus some of the Powerades there have hang tags for $1 off of 4 that you can pair with the other tags.

Also, the Kellogg’s fruit snacks (Yogos at least) were 3 for $6.00, or $2 each, pair that with the $1 coupon that was in the paper a bit ago (I don’t have the exact date) and you get a box for $1. Target had some Yogos on clearance for $1.67 a box, so you get them for $.67 with the same coupon there.

I forgot to add that the Acme in Limerick did not get their Fax Fixins shipment in yet, so they are giving rain checks out.

It’s a different sale for us here in Delaware. Get $10 wyb $25 worth of:
Jiffy Pop corn
Healthy Choice
Peter Pan PB
PAM Spray
Reddi Whip
Marie Calendar
Egg Beaters

I bought 4 boxes of Jiffy Popcorn (paired with 2 $1.50 coupons, and 2 $1 coupons), 4 Healthy Choice Meals, and 2 Reddi Whips. I ended up spending 14.25 oop, and got the $10. I rang up that transaction, and then put the $10 towards the rest of the groceries.

I ran through ACME today . .. The Limerick one, the customer service gal who rang me up (and apologized) when I had the Gatorade debacle came up to me today and asked if I had any more problems, I said no, but that honestly I had avoided the store as the problem gal had stalked me when I had come in the store.

Nice customer service gal said that the employee in question is now only working Thursday evenings. So now I know how to have good ACME trips!
